Network Manager...

Starting Salary Range:  $60,000 - $80,000

Primary Purpose: To provide the technology vision and leadership in developing and implementing technology initiatives in a changing environment.  To manage and maintain technology activities, including software and hardware platforms, information and network management for the ESC.

-B.S. Degree or equivalent in network administration or related field preferred.
-Certifications that support servers and technologies such as: MCSE and CCNA preferred.
-5 years’ experience working with networked systems, Cisco routers/firewall, BGP, Routing Protocols, DNS required.
-Expertise in: DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs and TCP/IP routing and configuration in wired and wireless network technologies.
-Knowledge of network hardware and software applications including network servers, printers, and other equipment.
-Ability to work with multiple operating systems and network protocols.

Special Knowledge/Skills: 
-Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and IT in the areas of systems and network design, modifications or troubleshooting.
-Meet deadlines and function in crisis situations.
-Possess adequate professional and technical knowledge to function independently.
-Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
-Support Active Directory, DNS, IP routing, TCP/IP, VPN/RAS, RADIUS, video conferencing systems and video MCUs.

Major Responsibilities: 
-Manage IT acquisitions of hardware, software, leased circuits, contracts and ensure cost effective procurement solutions to support and service the ESC.
-Support wired and wireless network infrastructure, leveraging cloud technologies including (but not limited to) Meraki and Google Apps, and on-site technology including (but not limited to) Active Directory, Web Content Filter, Malware Virus Filtering, NetApp SAN, Equal Logic SAN, Fortinet, VMware ESXi, VMware View, Cisco UCS, Cisco Switches, Cisco Firewall, Ubiquiti, RADIUS and 802.1x authentication system, and a variety of application software.
-Analyze complex business needs presented by the users/clients and recommends/leads implementation of technical solutions.
-Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, execution and support for all of the ESC’s network infrastructure systems and maintaining configuration documentation.
-Oversees and ensures effective helpdesk support for the ESC, and provides assistance to end users to identify and correct equipment and software related problems when needed.
-Ensures the operation of existing IT applications, systems, servers, video, and network equipment to keep downtime to a minimum.
-Responsible for working with Information Security Officer to insure best practice security measures are in place.
-Responsible for telecommunications system maintenance and configuration.
-Communicates with vendors and outside contractors as needed.
-Assist with development and implementation of a disaster recovery plan and supports backup services.
-Maintains awareness of emerging network technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
-Acting as team lead of Network/Systems technicians and provide support and guidance.

Equipment/Specialized Software Used: 
-Omni Peek Network Sniffer,  Microsoft SQL, Microsoft  Server OS, Multiple Linux OS, Cisco IOS.

-Work unexpected hours due to emergencies or planned after hour projects.
-Work as a team member demonstrating flexibility, lending support to other projects/programs, and cooperating with certified and support staff members.
-Able to work in crisis situations with interruptions.
-Regular attendance is expected and required.
